1. When and where was Swavor Clothing founded?
Swavor Clothing was founded in Maryland USA, in the year 2010. It was founded by Shek Tarwallie & I came along around the beginning. But as for the founding I guess you can say Shek.
2. Why did you start the brand?
The thought of leading average lives never seem to be an option for me and Shek. We were confident that our ideas were good enough to build something legitimate, and have an impact on the fashion world. Our love for designing and our hunger for success really pushed us to create Swavor. I drew a logo; Shek took out 191 dollars out of his pockets and ordered our first shirts. Ever since that day we have been known as Swavor.
3. Why the name Swavor? What does it mean?
Swavor stands for Sheik, Wealthy, Arrogant, Victorious, Original, Retail. Pretty much speaks for itself.
4. What are your dreams for the future and what’s next for the brand?
Our dreams for the future would definitely be to accomplish new goals, reach new heights, and just go way further than were we already are. At Swavor it’s an absolute must that we advance and that we get better as a brand and as a team. What’s next for the brand is expansion, doing things on a much larger scale than ever done before. For 2013 we decided that we will be releasing 8 to 10 collections. Each with different themes, different products, great quality, everything and more you would expect from Swavor.
5. Where do you find your inspiration?
Inspiration is everywhere you just have to look and study everything that’s going on around you. Sometimes inspiration is very difficult to find sometimes it’s not, but when you find it it’s a great feeling. Life itself can be seen as an inspiration simply because being yourself is the greatest work of art. And art is the greatest source of inspiration there is.
6. Explain to us the overall theme of the line because it’s very different from anything else?
That’s an interesting question because; Swavor is something no one has ever tried before. We are a brand born in the streets of America, with the ambition to become as relevant as a fashion house in Paris. We want to bring those two worlds together. Some people may be appalled by the idea of a street brand and haute couture becoming one, but we think its genius. So what theme do we fall under? Who knows only history books in the future will be able to come up with a word for what we do.
7. How do we get information and products from Swavor?
If you have a specific question you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org . We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. If you are looking to buy you can go directly to our official website at www.swavor.us or our twitter @Swavorclothing .
8. What advice do you have for aspiring fashion designers?
Stick to what you believe in and be open about everything that comes your way. As fashion designers we have to keep up with the times and see around corners but never lose ourselves in the process. Most of all do what you love and love what you do. The fashion business is not for the weak hearted, but if you believe in yourself and all your aspirations, then nothing can stop you.
9. What is the best perk in being a designer?
The freedom and the endless possibilities of creating are very interesting. Being a fashion designer is one of the few careers that will allow you to create from scratch, which in its self is amazing. I’m not going to lie the beautiful models we get to be around with all day is definitely a plus.
10. What do you think is the next trend for the Spring/Summer season?
I definitely see men being bolder about what they would usually wear. It’s exciting it means that Swavor is going to have to study what people want, and do something that’s even better. Something that is slightly ahead of the times so we are at the forefront.
11. What’s the most challenging part of being a designer?
Always having to come up with fresh and new ideas and not knowing if this time it’s going to work or not. It’s a constant fear that a designer has to accept as part of the job. With all that said if something we love to do is not very challenging it’s probably not worth doing. So we gladly take on anything the world decides to throw at us.
12. Anything you want to say to your supporters?
Thank you for your support; we would be nothing without it. We mean it.
